Our Story

Born of the Bay of Fundy where the tides sweep back and forth in our town of Parrsboro, The Salty Spoon is dedicated to the Master Mariners, the ship builders and the graceful schooners sent across ocean’s far, delivering their Maritime wares.

223 Main Street was built in the late 1880’s and has seen it’s share of owners with many different enterprises from restaurant, bender, bakery, barber shop, Five and Dime and Stedmans to name a few. David and Lesley bought the building March 1st 2025 and dreamed of a Café ….. the location was right, the large space and tall ceilings begged to be decorated, and the exterior just needed a lick of paint for the creation of The Salty Spoon.

Since opening November 13th , 2025, Parrsboro has embraced its new Café. With an outpouring of enthusiasm for the fine food created by Chef Alex, the espresso coffee, baristas and staff smiling and full of welcome, our customers are in a class of their own. The Salty Spoon is devoted to the communities on this beautiful ancient coast of Fundy, to memories and history of men and women of the sea, now thriving in the arts, music and culture, how fortunate we are to serve these people!
